A good home can inspire an immediate feeling. A good purchase also stands up to a slower conversation. Use these five questions to connect what you love about a waterfront project with the details of the residence and agreement you are considering.
1. What exactly am I choosing?
Start with the precise residence: collection, unit number, floor, orientation and plan. Look at the usable room dimensions, outdoor space and outlook. Ask which images illustrate your home and which show the wider proposed neighbourhood. Keep the dated offer and the relevant drawings together.
2. What am I agreeing to?
Request the full contract and specification before paying. Have a qualified adviser explain the parties, your obligations, inclusions and exclusions, the payment schedule and the consequences of cancellation or delay. Resolve unanswered questions in writing and retain the version you sign.
3. What if my plans change?
Ask about assignment and resale provisions while you still have time to compare them. Clarify whether consent is needed, when a transfer is allowed, any fees and which obligations pass to another buyer. Do not build your purchase plan around a verbal assurance that you can always exit early.
4. Does the complete commitment fit my life?
Compare every payment with your own budget and intended use of the home. Include furnishing, professional advice, bank costs and ongoing ownership expenses. Consider how the commitment fits work, family and relocation plans. A manageable entry payment is only one part of that decision.
5. How will the neighbourhood work for me?
Look beyond the front door: access, parking, outdoor areas, shared facilities and the activities around your preferred residence. Ask what is included in your phase and in the agreement. If possible, make the journeys you expect to use and visit at different times rather than deciding from a single photograph.
